All International Baccalaureate Schools Now Available
ISC Research online already gives users access to comprehensive and
up-to-date information about the world’s English-medium international
schools. Several subscribers asked that we add all IB schools to
the system regardless of the language of instruction. This service is
now available and anyone interested in targeting all
2187
IB schools can do so very straightforwardly. Constant monitoring
will ensure that any new schools will be added as soon as we are aware
of them (e.g. 49 new IB schools will be added this month).
As the ISC Research online system is primarily intended for international schools the non international IB schools are not included in either the extensive statistical and demographic displays or in the regular school searches. Instead information on non international IB schools is accessed via a simple "Yes/No" feature situated in the "Further options" on the main search page. The default is set to "No". Switching this to "Yes" will tell the search engine to display non international IB schools alongside the other selected criteria.
The University of Cambridge International Examinations recently announced the launch of a new post-16 qualification. Designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge required to make a success of their university studies Pre-U offers a coherent curriculum underpinned by a core set of educational principles.
In the release CIE say that the Pre-U qualification addresses the needs of both teachers, students and universities by inspiring, challenging and rewarding students and preparing them for university; reporting achievement in a way to help universities and enabling teachers to regain a passion for their subjects.
The qualification has a linear structure with exams taken at the end of a two -year course. There is also a change to reclaim teaching and learning time at the end of the first year. The order, pace and depth of teaching and learning most appropriate for students is also reviewed at this time.
The syllabuses can be taken separately and are graded individually with students having the ability to combine them in order to gain a full diploma. There is freedom to choose subject combinations with constraint with students choosing to study at least three of the twenty-six available subjects.
The new Pre-U qualification offers opportunities for interdisciplinary study and has an international perspective.

Send a postal mailing to all international schools in Asia
A subscription to ISC Research's online system makes postal mailings very easy. Imagine a scenario where a new brochure has been created and your sales team want to send it to all schools in Asia. To do this you would login, go to the search page and produce a list of all schools in Asia.
This is a simple operation taking only 5 clicks.
First scroll down until you reach the Advanced Options. Then click on the "Countries and regions" link. This opens a special window containing three boxes. The middle box is a list of major geographic regions. In here click on "Asia" then scroll to the bottom and click on "Search". A new page is displayed containing all schools in Asia. Scroll down to the bottom and click in the "Save as:" box. Give the search a name and then click on "Save Search".
You are now ready to produce your labels. This is a 4 click process. Open the "Direct mail" page and click on "Create label campaigns". Choose the Asia search you have just saved in the "Select Saved Search" box, choose the labels you have from the list in the "Select Label Size" box and then decide how to address the label by choosing from:
The main contact at the school
The school itself
A custom first line that you type in yourself.
The final step is to click on the "Save Labels to Disk" button to produce a PDF file ready for printing.
In just 9 click you have produced a set of labels for all schools in Asia.
The system supports all major Avery A4 and Letter labels and special, bespoke labels can be catered for with a little advanced warning.

What are the advantages to being a subscriber?
By subscribing to ISC Research
Limited you will gain access to the richest schools market in the world.
This market is growing at an extraordinary rate and almost certainly has a
greater value than the current UK schools market. Many companies spend a
huge amount marketing and selling to UK schools and very little
internationally. Yet compared to UK schools, schools abroad are often
isolated and have little access to information, representatives,
presentations etc. Sales prospects are enormous and they are getting bigger
day by day. Using ISC Research Limited's online system subscribers can map,
analyse, target and contact over 4,600 English-medium schools worldwide.
Taking the current annual growth rate of 11% there will be nearly 6,000
schools by 2010, well over 10,000 schools by 2015 & over 15,000 by 2020.
As well as researching new schools, the underlying database is constantly
researched and updated to reflect innumerable changes in basic school
information. ISC Research Limited specializes in providing detailed,
up-to-date information about existing international schools, emerging
international schools and trends in the market.
With the system you can:
Analyse and target schools by geography, curriculum, examinations,
membership of associations, pupil age, etc. using Search
Show results using a graphics interface
Access the up-to-date international schools News Section
Use the Market Overview and Statistics Section to follow trends
Find and contact international school organisations
Manage communications appropriately and effectively with integrated e-mail and mailing utilities
Single or multiple user subscriptions are available to suppliers, service organisations and parents.
For free temporary access and system demonstration please contact ISC Research.
I am so impressed that the new system
can do this (store files on the server so that they may be sent as
links) - it's great that the file does not appear as an attachment which
means it is a great way for us to reach international schools with our
catalogue.
