GESS and ISC Research work together
by Sue Rothwell
Group Event Director, Fairs and Exhibitions.
After the success of the inaugral GESS in January this
year, we are now fully in the planning stage for the 2009 event. To
raise the event’s profile, and to better communicate with the region’s
independent schools, GESS is delighted to be working with ISC Research
in the run up to the next edition in March 2009.
We fully believe that the knowledge and expertise that ISC Research can bring to the event planning and promotion will extend our reach to the key decision makers in this particular market, enabling us to communicate the conference and workshop topics, key note speakers, and our exhibitors as they come on board.
GESS is the only event in the Gulf region that addresses the entire spectrum of educational needs. Held in Dubai, and supported by BESA and Worlddidac, GESS is a platform of solutions for both private and public educational establishments within the GCC states.
GESS is a dynamic combination of conference and exhibition, combining the Global Education Forum, with a comprehensive exhibition featuring cutting edge supplies and solutions from around the world. It is designed to be inspirational, educational and enlightening, providing teaching professionals with the solutions and skills needed to advance regional education.
The forum brings a global perspective to a broad range of key issues and provides informative and innovative solutions that are taylored to meet local issues. With the generous support of the Minister of Education, Dr Hanif Hassan, the plenary sessions, workshops and masterclasses provide the most comprehensive reach to education professionals within the entire Gulf Region.
GESS 2008 saw 4,000 visitors through the door. Head teachers, Heads of Department, IT specialists, and teachers from the public and private sectors, of all educational establishments, K – 12, and higher education, attended to catch up on the latest technologies, and exchange ideas.
The next GESS event will be held in Dubai March 10 – 12 2009

presenter Chris Smith. This was originally recorded in January 2007.
It will be available from within the pavilion at all times.

Online Distribution
System (ODS)
ISC Research Limited are pleased to announce development of a new product offering.
The Online Distribution System is a fully customisable product that
allows subscribers to choose which regions, sub-regions or countries
they wish to have access to. All other functions of the online
system remain the same so subscribers can produce personalised emails,
letters and labels and use the demographic information to strategically
manage their marketing campaigns.
ODS will be available in two forms: Basic and Advanced - the key difference being that Advanced level subscribers can download subsets of data to their machines for further analysis. This is achieved by linking ISC Research information to their own.
Subscribers define the scope of their subscription when signing up and then get access to the standard online services, the only difference being that they can only search and contact the schools in the countries, sub-regions or regions that they have specified.
Both basic and advanced options will be competitively priced to ensure that ISC Research continues to offer excellent value for money.

What are the advantages to being a subscriber?
By subscribing to ISC Research
Limited you will gain access to the richest schools market in the world.
This market is growing at an extraordinary rate and almost certainly has a
greater value than the current UK schools market. Many companies spend a
huge amount marketing and selling to UK schools and very little
internationally. Yet compared to UK schools, schools abroad are often
isolated and have little access to information, representatives,
presentations etc. Sales prospects are enormous and they are getting bigger
day by day. Using ISC Research Limited's online system subscribers can map,
analyse, target and contact over 4,600 English-medium schools worldwide.
Taking the current annual growth rate of 11% there will be nearly 6,000
schools by 2010, well over 10,000 schools by 2015 & over 15,000 by 2020.
As well as researching new schools, the underlying database is constantly
researched and updated to reflect innumerable changes in basic school
information. ISC Research Limited specializes in providing detailed,
up-to-date information about existing international schools, emerging
international schools and trends in the market.
With the system you can:
Analyse and target schools by geography, curriculum, examinations,
membership of associations, pupil age, etc. using Search
Show results using a graphics interface
Access the up-to-date international schools News Section
Use the Market Overview and Statistics Section to follow trends
Find and contact international school organisations
Manage communications appropriately and effectively with integrated e-mail and mailing utilities
Single or multiple user subscriptions are available to suppliers, service organisations and parents.
For free temporary access and system demonstration please contact ISC Research.
I am so impressed that the new system
can do this (store files on the server so that they may be sent as
links) - it's great that the file does not appear as an attachment which
means it is a great way for us to reach international schools with our
catalogue.
